The danger of whiplash during accidents may soon be a thing of the past with the development of the anti-whiplash seat.
A new gadget that can prevent whiplash has been developed in Switzerland and is set to revolutionalise passenger safety.
The device is fitted to the rails under the driver’s seat and if the car is hit from behind it will tip the seat backwards. This allows the person to rotate at the same speed, keeping the head and neck straight to prevent whiplash.
Only new cars from Volvo and Saab have been fitted with the gadget, but it can be installed in other cars, including older models.
