Audi and German tuner ABT Sportsline have teamed up to create a pretty special vehicle called the RS6 Avant Performance Nagaro Edition. Based on the current superwagon, the limited edition model boasts an exclusive exterior colour and, yes, even more grunt from under the bonnet.
The Nagaro Edition essentially pays tribute to RS legends such as the RS2 and original RS4 Avant, which used the same Nogaro blue paintwork and all-wheel-drive. This latest version is kitted out with gloss-black side-mirror caps, tinted rear windows, titanium RS tailpipes and 21-inch black alloy wheels (there’s a choice of two designs) wrapped in 285/30ZR21 Dunlop SP Sport Maxx GT tyres.
Predictably, the cabin also gains a touch of blue, with trim pieces such as the door cards and areas of the centre console finished in blue Alcantara. The seats employ Valcona leather upholstery with blue Alcantara quilting. The steering wheel is trimmed in black suede and the floormats adopt blue contrast stitching and piping. Finally, the carbon-fibre dashboard gains a “one of 150” plaque.
So, what about that extra under-bonnet oomph? Well, the twin-turbo 4,0-litre V8 has been fitted with an ABT control unit, which hikes peak outputs to a whopping 519 kW and 880 N.m of torque. There’s no indication of how much faster to 100 km/h this makes the RS6 (the Performance Pack RS6 achieves it in a claimed 3,7 seconds), but we do know it will now reach a top speed of 320 km/h.
The Audi RS6 Avant Performance Nagaro Edition is limited to 150 units, with each starting at €130 000 (that’s about R1,95-million).
