In January Audi revealed its new top-of-the-range SUV, the Q7. However, this time around it seems Audi will also release a sportier version of this car as an SQ7 has been spotted testing.
From the pictures it is easy to spot the potential differences compared to the standard model. The black alloy wheels and quad exhaust pipes are just some of the updates.
Move to the interior, and it is easy to notice the “SQ7” badge on the rev counter. Looking at the rev counter, it is proof that the SQ7 will be powered by a V8 turbodiesel engine sending torque to all four wheel via Audi’s proven Quattro all-wheel-drive system. The engine could be the same 4 134 cm3 unit as used in the Audi A8 sedan, although power and torque might be even more than the 283 kW and 850 N.m from this specific unit. The sprint to 0-100 km/h could dip below 6 seconds while top speed will surpass 250 km/h.
Expect the SQ7 to make its international unveiling at this year’s Frankfurt International Motor Show in September. The local introduction could take place as early as the second quarter of 2016.
