To celebrate its recent motorsport success, Audi has created a special edition R8 dubbed the Selection 24h.
The limited edition model – of which, fittingly, just 24 will be built – pays homage to the Audi R8 LMS GT3 car, which has more than 300 wins under its belt since its debut in 2009.
The Ingolstadt-based automaker says the new model combines “competition-inspired styling enhancements with an exceptional specification”, the latter including adaptive damping, a sports exhaust, and laser lighting.
The Audi R8 V10 Plus Selection 24h features a tricolour exterior, resembling that of its GT3 counterpart. The body is finished in Suzuka grey, while Mythos black detailing and eye-catching Misano red accents draw inspiration from the classic Audi racing livery.
The front spoiler, side-mirror housings, engine compartment cover, rear wing, and diffuser are made from gloss-finish carbon-fibre, as are the sideblades, which feature an “R8 24h” logo.
The tailpipes of the sports exhaust system feature black trim while the 20-inch forged aluminium wheels are painted gloss anthracite black.
Inside, the limited edition supercar offers leather upholstery and trim in grey, with an Alcantara headlining.
The inlays for the surround of the Audi virtual cockpit and the air-vents are fashioned from gloss-finish carbon-fibre reinforced plastic, while the illuminated door sill trims, which are also made of gloss-finish carbon, feature the vehicle’s serial number (1 to 24).
The entry lights on the doors, meanwhile, project the Audi R8 logo onto the road surface.
Since it’s based on the Audi R8 V10 Plus, the Selection 24h model doesn’t benefit from any sort of power boost. Indeed, it makes the same 449 kW as the standard V10 Plus, reaching the 100 km/h mark in 3,2 seconds before topping out at 330 km/h.
