Just this week, Audi Sport boss Stephan Winkelmann announced that we would be seeing eight new performance models within the next year or so. Now Audi boss Rupert Stadler adds that a new A1, Q3, A6, A7 and A8 are well on their way.
The A6, A7 and A8 will share the same MLB platform currently used on the A4 and A5. Stadler also confirms that the new styling direction to be used will make these three cars look less alike than is currently seen. The A7 Sportback is said to possess a much more dynamic look than its sedan brethren.
The new A1 is expected to have a more playful design but will not fall in line with the Q2. It will most likely be based on the new Volkswagen Polo’s MQB setup (set to be revealed at Frankfurt this year).
The Q3 is rumoured to not only get a new platform and engine line up, but it is also expected to be directed into a new segment and take the same approach to the market that we’re currently seeing with the Q2.
We don’t know when exactly these new Audi models will be revealed and in what order but if Stadler says they will all show face by the middle of this year you can expect to see more of them very soon.
