One of the most controversial BMWs, the 3 Series GT, has just been facelifted with the same treatments seen in the sedan. The revisions to the quirky model include an increase in aerodynamic design, choice of options and power.
As you can see, the 3 Series GT still adopts the stretched roofline housing and frameless windows, but with some new exterior detailing. The headlamps and taillamps have been revised as well as the rear apron to help it appear a little bit sharper. Sport and Luxury Line models receive a new set of air intakes and random accents.
Interior additions feature a new set of colours and materials and a revised infotainment display which is now flatter and narrower. Other minor changes include redesigned air vent detailing, climate and audio controls and door and window controls.
The facelifted 3 Series GT will also make use of the revised engine line-up seen throughout the model range. This includes the 320i, 330i, 340i, 320d and 330d variants as well as the 318d 325d and 335d.
Engines will be available with either a six-speed manual transmission or eight-speed Steptronic transmission. Some models will also be available with xDrive, but not likely for the South African market.
Expect the facelifted 3 Series GT to make its way to SA late in the third quarter of 2016, but bear in mind that only the 320i (R555 696), 320d (R587 200) and 340i (R780 876) models will be offered.
