We speculated that BMW would reveal its rumoured CUV at this year’s Paris Motor Show and here it is. This is the BMW X2 Concept and just like the X1 and 2-Series Active Tourer, it’s aimed at people who are a little bit more adventurous.
The X2 Concept is just to give a visual idea of what the final product will look like, so BMW has not revealed any engine options or other specifications.
It doesn’t mention it in the press release, but this is likely to share the same platform as the X1 so the specs shouldn’t be far off.
Exterior design is quite bold considering it won’t be much bigger than the X1. The X2 possesses some intimidating bumper designs, air intakes and signature kidney grills. The front-end screams more performance than adventure.
The profile shows more of a robust appearance as it makes use of some side-cladding along the arches and skirt. The b-pillar has also been blacked out, giving it more of a smooth appearance.
Around the rear the robust theme continues as the X2 gains a diffuser-like anti-scuff plate with embedded exhausts. Taillamps also look to be inspired by the current 1-Series.
A production version has been confirmed for 2018. While we expect it to possess some of these lines, we’re sure it will look more in line with the current X1.
