Ever use or hear that term, “those crazy Germans”? Well, it applies particularly well to this trio of guys. German record breaker Rainer Zietlow, accompanied by Matthias Prillwitzand Marius Biela, will attempt to set a new world record from Cape-to-Cape, Norway to South Africa later this month.
Zietlow, a multiple world-record holder in extreme continent-spanning journeys, will depart from Nordkapp in Norway with his team on Monday September 21st bound for Cape Agulhas in South Africa, over 17 000 kilometres away.
The attempt is expected to take around 10 days to complete and during this event the team will pass through 19 countries: Norway, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Serbia, Bulgaria, Turkey, Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe and South Africa. To reach the African continent, the team will fly from Adana, Turkey to Cairo, Egypt.
Something tells me that they won’t be stopping to enjoy the scenery too often, which is a shame if you ask me.
