Following the limited editions of its Sonic and Spark models, Chevrolet launched the last of its three Special Edition models: the Utility 1.4UteForce Edition.
This model, according to Chevrolet, pays homage to the work done by the manufacturer in helping and uplifting struggling and underprivileged communities in South Africa.
“The UteForce campaign was introduced in 2010 at the launch of the current Chevrolet Utility. The idea behind the concept was to become an enabling platform from which skilled experts from various backgrounds could launch sustainable community upliftment projects. The Chevrolet Utility has proven to be a reliable and trustworthy companion delivering everything from gardening equipment, plants and soil while covering thousands of kilometres over the last 4 years to get the UteForce team to where they are needed the most,” said Chevrolet Brand Manager at General Motors South Africa (GMSA), Tim Hendon.
Based on the 1,4-litre model, the upgrades accompanying the UteForce Edition include 15-inch gunmetal alloy wheels, a stainless steel sports bar, special black UteForce Edition decals, a tonneau cover and a standard audio cover.
The available colours are Vector Blue, Athenian White and Maranello Red, only.
“The UteForce Edition reinforces the important role which the Chevrolet Utility plays in the South African market, where to date in 2014 Utility sales have passed the 12 300 units mark. The new UteForce Edition is sure to be a hit with trendy consumers who value its unique style, and with a retail price of just R160 900, is friendly on the wallet as well,” concludes Hendon.
To ensure exclusivity for this model, only 300 UteForce Edition vehicles will be built at Chevrolet’s Struandale plant in Port Elizabeth.
