Citroën has revealed the plug-in hybrid CXperience Concept a month ahead of its official debut at the Paris Motor Show.
The new concept essentially represents the French automaker’s idea of a future large saloon, and measures some 4,85 metres long (with a wheelbase of 3,0 metres).
It employs a plug-in hybrid powertrain comprising an unspecified petrol engine and an 80 kW electric motor, with combined output standing at 224 kW.
A transversally mounted eight-speed automatic transmission is sited between the petrol mill and the electric motor, with the compact battery positioned under the cabin to deliver electric power to the rear axle.
Citroën says the CXperience Concept boasts an all-electric range of some 60 km, adding that the battery can be recharged via a conventional socket in just four-and-a-half hours (or just two-and-a-half hours using a 6,6 kW charger designed for connection to a 32A socket).
The CXperience Concept will sit (on its impossibly large 22-inch alloys) alongside the new C3 at Citroën’s stand in Paris.
