Mini has issued official “spy images” of its upcoming Countryman-based Paceman model, which is likely to debut at the upcoming Paris Motor Show in September.
The Paceman name, once rumoured to make way for Countryman Coupe, will apparently appear on the vehicle, which is essentially a funky, two-door version of the high-riding Countryman.
The neat looking little Paceman is already confirmed for South African market introduction, either late this year or early in 2013, with an engine line-up that will mirror the Countryman’s. In other words, expect to see 1,6-litre (90 kW/160 N.m) and 1,6-litre THP (turbo) models (135 kW/240 N.m). A JCW version of the Paceman is also apparently in the works.
