Following the launch of the entry-level GWM H5 City, the Chinese carmaker has extended this trim grade to the newer, more refined H6 compact SUV.
Externally, the only omission from more expensive H6s is roof rails. The City retains extensive colour-coding and 17-inch wheels.
Inside, there’s climate control, an audio system with USB and auxiliary inputs, electric mirrors and windows, and rear park-distance control. Safety is taken care of by ABS with EBD, and dual airbags.
The H6 City is propelled by a 1,5-litre turbopetrol that delivers a stout 105 kW and 210 N.m. Mated with a six-speed manual transmission, the H6 City boasts a claimed combined-cycle fuel-consumption figure of only 8,5 litres/100 km.
Included in the price is a five-year/100 000 km warranty and two-year roadside assistance. A five-year/60 000 km service plan is optional, and the H6 City retails for R259 900.
