He may be best known for flinging about a classic Mini in the lead role of Mr. Bean, but British actor, comedian and screenwriter Rowan Atkinson is actually something of an automotive aficionado. And now one of his (many) vehicles has come up for sale.
The limited edition, 2015 Land Rover Defender 90 Heritage is set to go under the hammer at the Silverstone Classic festival at the end of July.
One of just 400 built to mark the end of production of the current Defender, the vehicle was delivered new in November 2015 to Atkinson.
The Heritage edition features the iconic Grasmere Green metallic paintwork, an Alaska White roof, a heritage-style grille, headlamp surrounds, silver front bumpers, heavy-duty steel wheels and “HUE 166” graphics in tribute to the first pre-production Series I Land Rover from 1947.
Inside, you’ll find an aluminium clock, aluminium door handles and perforated leather on the steering wheel, gear stick and handbrake, as well as cloth seats with vinyl sides and backs. An upgraded DBS stereo, mud flaps, tow bar and bespoke dog guard also feature in Atkinson’s example.
It has just 2 260 miles (3 637 km) on the clock and will be offered with a pre-sale estimate of between £38 000 and £45,000 (R625 000 and R740 000).
