This year’s Auto Africa Expo will see the introduction of a new foreign delegate business facilitation service.
An increased number of foreign visitors are expected to visit the Auto Africa Expo 2002 – the biennial Africa International Automotive Trade Exhibition and Conference – in October.
South Africa is the gateway for automotive trade with the African continent and at this year’s exhibition, a newly-established business lounge will facilitate business discussions and negotiations between relevant people in the industry and about 500 foreign visitors who are expected to attend, Auto Africa Expo 2002 exhibition manager, Pula Dippenaar, said on Wednesday.
“Many foreign delegates are using Auto Africa Expo 2002 as a platform on which to interview distributors, source components and raw materials, establish agencies, explore investment opportunities and incentives and identify import and export opportunities.
“Foreign delegates will state their objectives, needs and special areas of interest before the event, and meetings with the appropriate industry players will be facilitated by Econometrix – an economic consultancy with particular expertise in the motor industry,” Dippenaar said.
“Representatives of all the major industry associations will be on hand to help foreign visitors conduct their business with various sectors of the South African automotive industry and South African export agencies,” Beeton said.
Meetings can either take place at Auto Africa Expo 2002’s business lounge or off-site at a venue decided on by the two parties involved, Dippenaar added.
Foreign delegates can visit the Auto Africa Expo 2002 web site to complete a foreign trade visitor registration form.
