Infiniti isn’t a brand that is well-known outside of the motoring industry, having sold a roughly 50 vehicles across SA last month. But believe it or not the Japanese firm – the luxury arm of Nissan – offers no fewer than six model lines locally. However, poor sales could be bolstered by the recent international debut of this new model, the Q30.
As you can see the is a hatchback that would, in keeping with Infiniti’s upmarket slant, go head-to-head with the likes of Audi’s A3, BMW’s 1 Series and Mercedes-Benz A-Class. Interestingly it it the latter model that the Q30 reportedly shares a platform with.
According to Infiniti: “The all-new Infiniti Q30 represents a category-breaking vehicle concept developed for customers seeking urban individuality. Its dynamic drive characteristics provide for Infiniti-typical confident and responsive performance as well as excellent ride and handling. Crafted trims and expressive interiors extend the striking design approach from the exterior into the passenger cabin.”
Infiniti SA confirms that the new model will be introduced onto the local market around the middle of next year.
