Toyota Supra teaser
Toyota has released this single teaser image ahead of the Geneva International Motor Show.

Toyota has released a single, shadowy teaser image along with a solitary sentence suggesting that the new Supra will finally show its face at the upcoming Geneva International Motor Show in March.

“At [the] 2018 Geneva Motor Show, a modern racing concept signals Toyota’s commitment to bring back to the market its most iconic sports car,” the automaker said in a press statement titled “The Legend Returns”.

Technically, the Japanese brand hasn’t confirmed that the new model will indeed wear the Supra badge, but the reference to its “most iconic sports car” makes it seem very, very likely.

You’ll perhaps also notice Toyota’s description of the vehicle in question as “a modern racing concept”, which furthermore suggests the full production version will come at a later stage.

The almost impossibly large wing seen in the teaser image reinforces the idea that the Geneva reveal will be of a racing concept rather than the production version. Other interestingly styling cues we see in the darkened photograph include a bulging rear wheelarch and the double-bubble-style roof featured on the FT-1 concept.

Of course, the new Supra has been co-developed with BMW alongside the new Z4, which itself has already been revealed in concept form. And an interesting report from October 2017 suggests that the new Supra will drop the Toyota name in favour of a Gazoo Racing badge.
