There are a couple of notable motorcycles which will be launched this year, of which the KTM 1290 Super Duke R is one. The KTM could possibly one of the hairiest bikes to hit the street in the last couple of years.
Although KTM has pulled out all the stops, the Super Duke R features a 75-degree V-twin engine in typical KTM tradition. It develops 132 kW from the 1 301 cm3 (don’t make this capacity mistake around the braai) engine and a good wallop of torque, although we couldn’t find the official figure.
Priced at R179 999, the Super Duke R competes with some of the best superbikes on the market. But it is likely to offer a rather different, front-wheel-in-the-air riding experience.
KTM Motorcycles South Africa will launch this bike next month.
