Although it was expected to an extent, it does come as a little surprise that Lamborghini has no confirmed that it will produce a roadster version of its lighter and more powerful Aventador SV version. Let’s not forget that the company did not manufacture a roadster version of the Murcielago SV.
Only three weeks ago we drove the coupe, and marvelled at the sheer pace and intensity of the car. Although Lamborghini will be building only 600 versions of the coupe, the SV Roadster will be even more exclusive, with only 500 planned to roll off the production line.
Don’t for a moment think that Lamborghini will struggle to sell these 500 roadsters, as Lamborghini’s CEO Stephan Winkelmann has confirmed that each of the 600 coupes have already been allocated.
The SV Roadster will cost more than the coupe, and we could see a public unveiling as early as September at the Frankfurt Motor Show in Germany.
