Renault has revealed a new four-door Mégane saloon, dubbing it the Mégane Grand Coupé (rather than simply calling it the Mégane sedan).
The new model, which borrows plenty of styling cues from the Talisman, follows the reveal of the fourth-generation Mégane hatchback in 2015 and the Mégane Sport Tourer earlier this year.
The French automaker claims that the Mégane Grand Coupé boasts “top-level rear-seat space” and a luggage compartment measuring 508 dm3.
The newcomer, which will be built at the Bursa plant in Turkey, runs on Renault-Nissan’s Common Module Family (CMF) platform. Depending on the market, it will be available with a choice of two petrol engines and three diesel mills.
South Africa, however, doesn’t appear to be one of the 20 markets in which the Mégane Grand Coupé will be introduced, despite the fact that the Renault Fluence (which this new model essentially replaces) was once sold here.
