A fresh report out of the United Kingdom suggests that Audi will soon reveal its new RS Q5, with the performance SUV drawing its significant urge from a 2,9-litre twin-turbo V6.

According to AutoExpress, the Ingolstadt automaker will launch the RS Q5 (above the 260 kW SQ5 3,0 TFSI pictured here) to fill the gap between the existing RS Q3 and the upcoming RS Q8, with the newcomer predictably set to boast the brand’s quattro all-wheel-drive system.
The British publication speculates that the RS5’s V6 will not be detuned for use in the hottest Q5, considering that the SUV will likely be quite a bit heavier than its coupé cousin. And that means the full 331 kW/600 N.m output is on the cards.
AutoExpress says this should be enough for a 0-100 km/h sprint time of less than five seconds, while top speed will likely be limited to 250 km/h.
