A few months ago, Nissan revealed its Sentra SR Turbo. Now, the in-house tuners over at Nismo have pounced on the fairly modest sedan and given it a few tweaks to make it edgier. Well, a little edgier, anyway.
The changes to the Sentra include a revised exterior and interior design as well as a through suspension tune-up (including a drop in ride-height). However, the Nismo-fettled model retains its (untouched) 1,6-litre turbocharged engine, which still delivers 140 kW and 240 N.m of torque to the front wheels.
Although Nismo recommends specifying the Sentra with a six-speed manual transmission, a tweaked version of Nissan’s CVT is also available.
The Nismo front and rear bumpers and side-skirts are the most obvious external differentiators, along with the obligatory red detailing. The 10-spoke 18-inch wheels, meanwhile, add to the styling drama and are wrapped in 215/45 R18 Michelin Pilot Sport rubber.
The sporty styling theme continues inside, with a set of cloth-covered bucket seats and an Alcantara- and leather-wrapped steering wheel part of the package.
As with the SR Turbo before it, don’t expect this model to find its way onto South African roads…
