The updated Peugeot 208 has arrived in South Africa.
The main exterior updates include the new grille and headlights, while the latter also incorporates daytime running lights (only for the Active and GT Line models). Another small tweak is the repositioning of the fog lamps. The rear lights now contain LEDs.
The engine range has also been updated. Although both the 1,2-litre and 1,0-litre, naturally-aspirated petrol engines are still available, Peugeot has now added the 1,2-litre turbocharged petrol unit in the GT Line model. This is the same unit used in the Citroën C4 Cactus, which means it develops 81 kW and 205 N.m.
However, for money continues buyers, the Pop Art, previously called the Access, is now the entry-level model. Powering the front wheels is a 1,0-litre, three-cylinder engine developing 50 kW at 6 000 r/min and 95 N.m. at 3 000 r/min.
