After tweaking the Volvo XC90, as well as the S90 and V90, Polestar has now turned its attention to the V90 Cross Country for a dash of off-road sportiness.
Polestar, Volvo’s in-house tuning division, is now offering performance and handling upgrades for the Swedish automaker’s latest model, the V90 Cross Country.
A performance crossover estate is about as niche as it gets, which means this model doesn’t have many rivals, apart from Mercedes’ new E-Class All-Terrain and Audi’s A6 Allroad, neither of which seem destined for South Africa.
According to Polestar, slight power upgrades for V90 CC are available, along with a recalibration of the transmission, which translates into faster shifts.
Niels Möller, chief operating officer of Polestar, says that its performance upgrades provide customers with a “new level of driving pleasure”.
“To include the V90 Cross Country, a true adventure crossover, in our optimisation programme is a vital part of our operation to further expand on Volvo Cars’ new SPA vehicle architecture,” said Möller.
For now, the upgrades are available for three engines within the range: the T6 petrol, and the D5 and D4 diesels.
The V90 CC has been confirmed for local introduction, although there’s no official word yet on whether the Polestar package will be available.
