The Stuttgart manufacturer has recalled all the Porsche 918 Spyder hypercars sold so far. It seems there’s a problem with the electric wiring harness for the radiator fan.
Porsche says this harness could be damaged by a carbon-fibre component and it has contacted all owners and requested the harness be examined and remounted at a Porsche service centre.
This isn’t the first recall for the Porsche 918 either – in 2014 some models had parts “whose functionality,” said Porsche “cannot be permanently guaranteed.” This was a peremptory recall as they hadn’t received any complaints or reports of breakages from customers.
Also recalled in 2014 were 785 example of the 911 GT3 that each received a precautionary engine change after a few examples had caught alight.
