If the Porsche Macan Turbo isn’t quite quick enough for your liking, we have good news. The automaker has announced the option of a new Performance Package, which adds sportier suspension, beefier brakes and, yes, a dash of added oomph.
With said Performance Package fitted, the compact SUV’s twin-turbo 3,6-litre V6 makes a hearty 324 kW and 600 N.m (with the latter on tap across a broader rev-range). Maths addicts will quickly calculate that this represents respective increases over the standard Macan Turbo’s outputs of 30 kW and 50 N.m.
The result? Some four-tenths are slashed off the standard model’s 4,8-second dash to 100 km/h, while the new top speed sits at 272 km/h (an increase of 6 km/h). Porsche furthermore promises that in-gear acceleration is vastly improved.
With the bump in under-bonnet oomph comes a newly developed braking system, a lowered sport chassis and a sport exhaust system. The front axle features grooved brake discs with a diameter of 390 mm (30 mm up on the standard discs), which are gripped by six-piston brake calipers painted – you guessed it – red.
No word yet on whether this performance upgrade will be offered locally.
