Porsche has confirmed that its new 4,0-litre V8 petrol engine will also be used in certain Audi and Bentley vehicles.
The fourth-generation eight-cylinder mill will be produced at a new Porsche engine factory in Stuttgart, and it seems other brands in the Volkswagen Group will benefit from the investment.
The automaker has already poured nearly €80-million into the new plant, with around 200 engines scheduled to be built every day, according to an Automotive News report.
The Audi A8 and Bentley Mulsanne are expected to employ the new twin-turbo V8, which will make its debut in the new Panamera Turbo and be capable of churning out up to 404 kW.
Porsche claims the new mill is up to 30% more efficient than the outgoing V8.
