The Renault KWID was recently released to Indian market and to build on this, Renault has provided Racer and Climber concepts for this year’s Indian Auto Expo. The KWID is a joint venture between Nissan and Renault intended for the Indian market. These two variants are to celebrate the success that the KWID has generated since its launch.
The KWID Racer is a concept that is becoming rather popular these days; a track focused light crossover with an aggressive red and blue body kit and 18-inch alloy wheels on low profile tyres. Inside you will find that the rear seats have been removed in order to make way for a sturdy roll-cage. Four point harness bucket seats and a flat-bottomed leather steering wheel complete the track day experience along with the Alcantara and Titane Black accents.
The KWID Climber is a more appropriate conversion for the crossover as it gives it more of an adventurous feel. The ground clearance has been raised and the standard wheels have been replaced with beefier tyres and the underbody has been given protective plating. Inside the Climber you’ll find a more colourful interior with special branding and red accents
Driving these two concepts will be a new 1,0-litre SCe engine that will eventually find its way into the road-going KWID. Specs for this engine are not known but it will be mated to a new five-speed automated manual transmission with three driving modes.
