Renault South Africa has revealed the limited edition Captur Sunset model, which is based on the recently introduced 1,5 dCi Dynamique derivative.
The 1,5-litre turbodiesel mill powering the latest offering is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox, and delivers maximum power of 66 kW and peak torque of 220 N.m (the latter from as low as 1 750 r/min).
The French automaker claims a combined fuel economy figure of just 3,6 L/100 km, with CO2 emissions pegged at 95 g/km.
So, what else sets the Sunset edition – which will be limited to just 100 units locally – apart from its siblings?
Well, it is painted in “Diamond Black” with “Sunset Orange” treatment for the roof and side-mirror caps, as well as for various front, rear and side trim elements.
The orange hue is repeated inside, on the air-vents, infotainment system and door speaker surrounds, as well as on parts of the steering wheel. Black and orange zip seat-covers are also part of the package.
So, how much? Well, the Renault Captur 1,5 dCi 66kW Turbo Dynamique Sunset Ltd Edition – to use its full name – comes in at R292 400, which is R2 500 more than the new diesel variant on which it is based. That cash, though, is effectively offset by the fact that metallic paint (usually a R2 500 option) is included.
