Last month, Suzuki revealed its drastic facelift for the medium-sized crossover SX4, three years after its release. It gained some clear revisions to the design, but now there is news of a new engine option.
In terms of visuals, the front end of the SX4 has been drastically altered to make it appear a bit more upmarket as it gains a new headlamp and bumper design.
Apart from the revised LED taillamp cluster, not much has changed around the rear. The crossover has also been raised by 15 mm, giving it a total ground clearance of 180 mm.
The engine range has been altered to include Suzuki’s BoosterJet engine, found in the Vitara S and Baleno in overseas markets. According to Suzuki, this turbocharged 1,4-litre engine is said to replace the current naturally aspirated 1,6-litre powerplant.
The BoosterJet gives the SX4 103 kW and 220 N.m of torque allowing it to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 10,2 seconds and eventually reach a top speed of 200 km/h.
A turbocharged 1,0-litre three-cylinder engine has also been added to the range. This provides 81 kW and 170 N.m.
The AllGrip all-wheel drive system remains as an option as well.
