Tata plans to ride the wave of growing local demand for well-specified double-cab bakkies with the introduction of its limited-edition Xenono Evolve model.
Based on the Xenon XT 2,2L Double-Cab 4×2 model, the Tata Xenon Evolve is available solely in white and features such exterior touches as a rollover bar, side steps, front nudge bar, tow bar and model-specific decals, as well as revised alloy wheels.
Leather upholstery, infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity and sat-nav, electric windows are among the interior highlights, while safety features include ABS and dual front airbags.
The Tata Xenon Evolve is power by the same 2,2-litre turbodiesel that does service in the rest of the XT-badged models. This unit develops 100 kW and 320 N.m of torque and is coupled with a five-speed manual gearbox that channels drive to the rear wheels. Like other double-cabs in the Xenon range, the 4×2 Evolve also features a limited-slip differential to provide improved traction on loose surfaces.
The Evolve will initially be offered in 4×2 configuration with 4×4 versions available on special order. The R264 995 sticker price includes a 4-year/120 000 km warranty and a 5-year/75 000 km service plan, along with 4-year/unlimited km roadside assistance.
