According to The Korean Car Blog, the Hyundai Elantra will be launched in South Korea as early as October. In November it will make its USA debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show. As this is Hyundai’s best-selling car, it comes as no surprise that it is an extremely important vehicle for the manufacturer.
This spy picture, as well as the designer’s sketch, illustrate the latest hexagonal grille. It is also clear that the front of the car will be longer, while the rear will be slightly shorter.
According to reports, one of the available engines will be the 1,6 T-GDI, the same unit we just experienced in the Hyundai Tucson. This four-cylinder, turbopetrol develops 130 kW and 265 N.m, and could also be connected to the 7-speed DCT transmission.
Comfort and luxury features is set to include the following: Infinity sound system, two USB outlets, an 8-inch infotainment system and heated seats. Safety features could include blind spot detection, rear cross traffic alert and pedestrian detection to name a few.
Further details about the local line up and likely launch date is set to become available towards the end of the year.
