The new Volkswagen Polo will be an immensely important vehicle for the Wolfsburg brand, what with more than 14 million units of the supermini having been sold over its first five generations. And now the German automaker has dropped two rather revealing teaser images of the new B-segment hatchback.
Due to be fully revealed in Berlin, VW bills the sixth-generation Polo as “larger, more spacious and more comfortable”.
“This Volkswagen can immediately be made out as the original of its class, but also as a completely new generation,” said Klaus Bischoff, head of design at the Volkswagen brand.
“A Polo with an expressive design which makes the compact sportier, cleaner and unique within the brand range. This is a car that fits in perfectly with our times – both visually and technologically,” he added.
The teaser images reveal the new Polo’s front grille and headlamp design, as well as its tail-lamps and part of its flank. In the teasers, the vehicle appears to be finished in VW’s new “Turmeric Yellow” hue.
