Volkswagen has published a teaser video of the new T-Roc on YouTube, revealing a few sketches of the upcoming crossover in the process.
The T-Roc, which will be positioned below the Tiguan in VW’s growing SUV line-up, will make its show debut in Frankfurt in September, although the Wolfsburg automaker says it will actually reveal the newcomer slightly earlier, on August 23.
Expected to ride on the Volkswagen Group’s MQB platform, the T-Roc looks likely to be available with plenty of big-car technology – including the digital instrument cluster – borrowed from larger VW models.
Back in April, Volkswagen released footage of a camouflaged T-Roc testing in South Africa. Engine options should include the automaker’s familiar three- and four-cylinder petrol and diesel units, although an earlier report suggested that even the 2,0-litre turbocharged mill from the Golf R could eventually find its way under the T-Roc’s bonnet.
In the video below, the T-Roc’s designers share a few insights. But look out for brief glimpses of the newcomer’s styling.
