Due to make its official debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed later this month, the 2013 Bentley Continental GT Speed is the halo model of the Continental range and is the company’s fastest-ever production car.
This new GT Speed makes use of Bentley’s proven twin-turbocharged 6,0-litre W12 engine, but company engineers have tuned it to push out just short of 460 kW and close to 800 N.m of torque. Sending drive to all four wheels is a close-ratio ZF eight-speed automatic transmission system, which helps propel the car to 100 km/h from standstill in a quick 4,0 seconds. Bentley claims a top speed of 330 km/h.
This second-generation GT Speed has been given unique chassis tuning so as to make the car more dynamic with sharper steering, slightly tweaked suspension and a lower ride height. Also new to this model are some exterior changes such as darker mesh at the front, exhaust pipes with a special finish and Mulliner Driving Specification on the inside.
