We’ve already seen the new Toyota Hilux Evo that will be taking on the 2017 Dakar Rally. And now Peugeot has revealed its fresh 3008 DKR contender.
The new model replaces the Peugeot 2008 DKR, with which Stéphane Peterhansel claimed victory at the Dakar back in January.
The French automaker’s new Dakar challenger will likely be on display at the Paris Motor Show.
The new 3008 DKR remains loyal to Peugeot’s two-wheel drive philosophy, and again uses a 3,0-litre V6 twin-turbodiesel engine. But the automaker says it has improved in many areas, including reliability, driveability (with more torque at lower revs), suspension and air-conditioning.
Before the Dakar itself, Carlos Sainz will test the new Peugeot 3008 DKR against other Dakar competitors (and Cyril Despres in the Peugeot 2008 DKR) during Morocco’s Rally in early October.
