With the new Honda Civic Type R having been revealed fairly recently, it was only a matter of time before JAS Motorsport took the wraps off of its TCR-compliant race car. This model will be made available to private teams for the 2018 calendar and will compete in the European and Asian racing league.
Although it’s based on the new Type R, the TCR variant features an all-new multilink rear suspension and anti-roll bar system to make it feel even more at home on the track. The aerodynamic package and advanced ECU system further aid its capabilities.
For those who wish to participate in endurance racing, JAS Motorsport will also offer additional lighting, driver cooling and an ABS system.
JAS Motorsport hasn’t revealed any official power figures for the new model, but for reference, the current FN2-based model delivers 260 kW and 400 N.m of torque from its turbocharged 2,0-litre engine … much like the current Golf GTI TCR.
There’s no word on how much this new model will cost, but JAS Motorsport has stated that the first 25 customers will receive their cars by 15 December.
