As the northern hemisphere’s summer comes to an end, the developers at Turn 10 has revealed a diverse pack that you can use to bash around the circuits of Forza Motorsport 6. The pack contains a diverse selection of classic racecars and modern performance cars, some of which attain some iconic on-track achievements. Let’s take a look:
2016 Cadillac CTS-V Sedan
This is the latest iteration from the famous American luxury manufacturer. The CTS-V was revealed at last year’s Superbowl and gathered a lot of attention because of the way it made use of Chevrolet’s hefty Corvette Z06 engine with what Cadillac considers to be its best suspension setup to date. The CTS-V removes a lot from what the brand used to represent in order to take down German titans such as the BMW M5, Mercedes-Benz E63 and Audi RS6.
2000 BMW 323ti Sport
Easily one of the most hated BMWs ever to be released but in all honesty its judgement is a bit unnecessary. The E36 323ti is a unique hot hatch that makes use of an effective 150 kW from its naturally aspirated 2,5-litre straight-six engine delivered to the rear wheels, creating a tail-happy “M3-lite” experience.
1979 Datsun #33 Bob Sharp Racing 280ZX Turbo
This car was raced by the one-and-only Academy Award winning Paul Newman (Butch Cassidy) in the 1979 IMSA GTX. The model was completely bespoke and designed in a way that took advantage of the IMSA’s short rule book. Thanks to its exaggerated body and massive turbochargers it was able to achieve respectable amounts grip and speed.
1964 Ferrari F-158 F1
At the hands of John Surtees with the new V8 powerplant, this car would see an exceptionally close championship win partially due to a messy game of politics between Enzo Ferrari and the FIA over GT homologation issues. As a result of his frustration, Enzo stripped the F-158 of its toro rosso racing colours and replaced it with the white and blue N.A.R.T livery.
1964 Watson #1 Sheraton-Thompson Special Roadster
This car is from an era when Indy cars had the engines mounted in the front, the final year to be exact as the mid-engined designs had begun a year later. Being a revised edition of the 1963 model and at the hands of A.J. Foyt this car was able to win 10 of 13 races in the ’64 season including the Indy 500.
2016 Abarth 695 Biposto
Based on the much softer Fiat 500, this Abarth is considered to be the perfect entry level track car perfect for beginners. This two-seater hatch features additional parts such as an Akrapovic exhaust, Brembo brakes, OZ wheels and a Garrett turbo to give it that extra edge on the tarmac.
1991 Nissan #23 Nissan R91CP
A representation of what was capable during the Group C era of the World Endurance Championships. The RCP was a development by Nissan and Nismo to create a formidable LMP racer since 1985 but it was the R91CP that seemed to posses the winning formula after taking a victory at the 24 Hours of Daytona with a 10 lap margin and a yet-unbeaten record of 762 laps. Although highly unsuccessful at Le Mans the R91CP was able to clench the last three years of the constructor’s cup.
The Turn 10 Summer Car Pack is available on the Xbox Live store here for R73,00.
