Forza Motorsport creates its best DLC yet

By: Nikesh Kooverjee

Every month the developers of Forza Motorsport release a seven car pack sponsored and compiled by third parties such as Top Gear and Ralph Lauren but for the final pack, the game turned to its own developers, Turn 10.

The additional cars for Forza Motorsport 6 have been on point this year with models such as Walter White’s Pontiac Aztek and Christine‘s Plymouth Fury making an appearance but this time we have been given what is probably the greatest collection of seven cars the franchise has ever seen:

In case you missed it, these are the cars that will be added with this pack:

2014 Jaguar #14 Emil Frey GT3 Jaguar XK

The Frey family has had a racing history alongside Jaguar for decades. in 2014 the family recreated every single component of this Jaguar XK from the ground up, leaving nothing but the aliminuim suspension. The design has been quite competitive in the Blancplain Pro-Am Cup division.

2015 Mercedes-Benz #24 Tankpool24 Racing Truck

This is confusingly the first time that a racing truck has been added to the game and it is much overdue. With about 805 kW on tap this semi would be unlikely to hold anyone up in the fast lane. These models are famous for racing at tracks such as the Nürburgring Grand Prix circuit and Le Mans Bugatti.

2014 Chevrolet #4 ROAL Motorsport RML Cruze TC1 WTCC

Founded by former driver and multiple touring car series champion Roberto Ravaglia, ROAL Motorsport has been showing the Germans a hard time over the past few years thanks to the car and its drivers Tom Coronel and Tom Chilton.

1980 Fiat 124 Sport Spider

Stylish. Classy. Sleek. These are some of the many words that can be used to describe the Fiat 124 Spider and with the name having finally made a comeback it was only fitting for Turn 10 to place this classic into its game. Even by today’s standards a Pininfarina designed 2,0-litre spider is all some people need to be happy.

2015 McLaren 570S Coupé

It says a lot when the most average vehicle on your car pack is a McLaren. This is the 570S and despite being an entry-level McLaren it is a force to be reckoned with. It retains the twin-turbo 3,8-litre V8 found in the other models but it has been adjusted so that this coupe can be used in an everyday setting.

1969 Ford Brawner Hawk III

Chapman’s Lotus gave this car an extremely hard time during the ’69 Indy 500 after it crashed into the Ford, driven at the time by Mario Andretti, during the qualifying session. The Lotus was forced to retire but the Brawner soldiered on to win the race despite having to drive slower to compensate for the compromised cooling system. It was Andretti’s first and only Indy 500 win by two laps.

1957 BMW Isetta 300 Export

Without a doubt the coolest car in this pack, the Isetta needs very little introduction. Despite having the Bavarian badge it was developed by several Italian companies across Europe. It makes use of a single-cylinder, four-stroke 298 cc engine which is good for 10 kW and a top speed of 85 km/h. The Export trim was fitted with everything it needed to meet the North American specification.

The Mercedes Racing Truck and the BMW Isetta are easily the two quirkiest cars in this pack and Turn 10 seem to think so two, as a result they have added this little video to celebrate the implementation of this special duo:

If you own Forza Motorsport 6 and you’re interested in this pack, you can pick it up here for R73,00
