Mobile shock tester

Driving a vehile with worn shock absorbers is a serious safety concern, because it has been proven that stopping distances can increase by 20%, aquaplaning in the wet is more likely, handling is affected and even electronic driver assistance systems become less effective.

So when last did you get your vehicle’s shocks tested? Not many people have this on their to-do lists and that’s why Bilstein has created the mobile shock tester. First shown at the Auto Mechanika automotive show in Frankfurt, the apparatus is now available in South Africa and will be employed on major holiday routes and car-related events country-wide. The 12-metre long, drive-on machine can accommodate passenger cars and LCVs and swiftly detects shock absorber defects.

Within two minutes it can provide information and precise data on a vehicle’s road manners and levels of safety, as well as clearly document the state of the vehicle’s dampers.
