Kudos to General Motors South Africa for this innovative marketing campaign for the new Isuzu KB. Inspired by Google Street View, the company has mapped some of the country’s remote off-road trails and the result is a website called “Isuzu Trail View”. With the use of multiple action cameras in a 3D-printed housing on top of the bakkie, the company has thus far recorded two trails in the Eastern Freestate and two in Gauteng. In addition, there are also videos showing viewers how to navigate common off-road obstacles.
The website also allows for visitors to upload comments and their own photos, adding a social media layer to the experience. Very clever, indeed! Visit the site here
