Spectacular Crash at SA Rally

At a recent round of the SA Rally championship, the Cullinan Rally, Matthew Vacy-Lyle and Schalk van Heerden had a spectacular crash.

While negotiating a very fast section in 5th gear the pair hit a jump in excess of 150 km/h. Their Fragram-sponsored Toyota Etios drifted a bit sideways in the air and when it landed one front corner dug into the softer earth on the side of the track sending the car into multiple rolls.

Despite the large impact the pair walked away unscathed, which is a testament to the mandatory safety gear.
