As Ford fans go, they didn’t come much bigger than CAR magazine’s late road test engineer and friend, John Naude.
The first to point out any and all advantages a Ford-badged model may have had over all its rivals, John very much looked forward to hearing all about the South Africa-bound fifth-generation Mustang upon associate editor Ian McLaren’s return from its international launch in Los Angeles.
As it turned out, John’s heart was as unreliable as the Ford Sierras he held so dear.
This one’s for you, John.
