The roofless Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta has already been sold out, but being Italian, the supercar manufacturer had to film a trailer dedicated to its success. The results are pretty cool.
The historic cars represented in the video through the reflections are as follows:
0:25 The 1947 125 S in water beneath the Aperta. The first model to wear the prancing pony.
0:37 The 1950 375 F1 car driven by Alberto Ascari.
0:43 The 1957 250 TR in the windows of the building. A model that is regarded as the most valuable car in the world after selling for R551 4369 60 in 2014.
0:54 The 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO shows itself in another glass building. This experienced a successful racing career in the 60s thanks to its engine developed by Bizzarrini.
0:58 Next up is the 1966 330 P4 in the a different window of the same building. This racecar claimed first, second and third at Le Mans that year among several other trophies.
1:20 Gilles Villeneuve’s 312T5 is seen on the chrome oil tanker. This is an odd inclusion as the 312T5 is widely considered to be one of the least successful F1 cars from Ferrari Scuderia. (Also someone should tell Vettel not to linger too long in the opposite lane while overtaking)
1:34 Next we have the F1-2002 with the exclusion of the Malboro sponsorship along the pit walls of Catalunya. Brawn and Schumacher used this to dominate the 2002 and 2003 seasons.
2:00 In true Ferrari fashion, the Aperta then pays tribute to itself before blasting down the main straight.
This wouldn’t be the first time that Ferrari filmed an advert like this, many might remember the Shell commercial in which a few of its historic F1 cars drove through a collection of European streets.
