The Lamborghini Murcielago and Ford Mustang are two cars that many people would love to drift around (if they had the necessary skill) but the guys at Liberty Walk and Phat Five racing took it upon themselves to turn this dream into a reality:
Driving the Mustang RTR is World Champion drifter, Vaughn Gittin Jr. The RTR is a 1 270 kg Mustang with a 7,1-litre Ford Performance/Roush Yates-built engine that revs to 9 000 r/min, produces over 670 kW and is set to compete in next year’s Formula Drift Championship.
The less conventional drift car seen in the form Murcielago is handled by D1 Grand Prix series driver Daigo Saito. The Murcielago’s naturally aspirated V12 claims just about 480 kW driven to the rear-wheels thanks to some HKS pod filters, a straight exhaust and an ECU remap.
