At first glance, this Volkswagen Golf R appears relatively normal.
Sure, there are some obvious tweaks – from the carbon-fibre bonnet to the aftermarket alloys – but nothing too drastic. In reality, though, there’s plenty going on here.
What you’re looking at is the Volkswagen Golf R HPA FT-740, an absolute monster created by the power-crazy folks over at HPA Motorsports.
The Canada-based outfit managed to squeeze a Passat-sourced 3,6-litre V6 mill under the hood, before slapping on a pair of hybrid turbochargers. They then fitted a seven-speed DSG transmission from the Audi TT RS, providing all four wheels with a massive amount of power.
How much exactly? Well, HPA claims a power output of 552 kW, which is on par with the Lamborghini Aventador LP750-4 Superveloce.
