This dashcam footage from Australia shows the driver of a Volkswagen Golf R attempt a brisk right turn at an intersection in damp conditions… but end up effectively understeering into a pole.
The clip, which was filmed in Wetherill Park in New South Wales, shows the driver of the white three-door (previous-generation) Golf R chuck the all-wheel-drive hot hatch into the corner, seemingly in a bid to beat an oncoming Hyundai.
But instead of disappearing down the road, Golf appears to understeer … straight into a pole. Unfortunately, the Hyundai blocks much of our view of the crash (you might even miss it the first time; be sure to wait for the slow-mo), but we’re guessing the front-end damage is pretty significant.
