A German YouTube channel has published a short video showing the new Volkswagen Polo GTI blasting from standstill to 100 km/h … first with and then without the help of launch control.
VAU-MAX.tv uploaded the clip after the new version of VW’s B-segment hot hatch was launched in Europe.
The video – which also gives us an idea of what the new hot hatch sounds like from inside the cabin – shows the DSG-equipped Polo GTI’s digital instrument cluster first during a “normal” acceleration test from zero to 100 km/h and then one using the built-in launch control system.
For the record, the latest Polo GTI uses a 2,0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine worth 147 kW and 320 N.m, facilitating a sprint to three figures in a claimed 6,7 seconds when fitted with the six-speed dual-clutch transmission.
