Land Rover Classic will breathe new life into some of its most iconic models with the launch of the Range Rover Reborn.
The plan is to restore 10 of these classic luxury SUVs to factory-perfect condition beginning with a 1978 model. All 10 will be painted in Bahama Gold and will be fitted with a 3.5-liter V8 engine delivering 98kW and 251Nm of torque. This engine will be mated to a four-speed manual transmission driving all four wheels with a lockable central differential.
Land Rover Classic says that it will work closely with the select few customers to find an appropriate base vehicle to be restored. The restored Range Rover Reborn models not be cheap with prices beginning at £135 000 (about R2.3 million).
Which seems rather exorbitant if you consider that in South Africa you get a model like this 1983 Range Rover that we featured recently, which is in average nick, for around R50 000.
