ABT adds GTI to Volkswagen Caravalle

By: CAR magazine

The VW Caravelle is already an extremely cool people carrier, yet ABT decided to dial the cool and the performance up by a few notches.

The most obvious difference between this ABT Caravelle and the standard car are the wheels. In order for it stand out a little more, ABT offers 19- and 20-inch alloy options, coupled with high-performance rubber. But don’t think for a second this Kombi is all show and no go.

It also has a height-adjustable Bilstein Suspension Kit. Customers can choose between a 40mm drop, or a 70mm drop.

In order to eke extra performance out of the 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine, ABT uses its own in-house ABT Engine Control module. ABT offers a wide variety of output options, but the one to go for is the 170kW and 490Nm of torque.
