Beetle Dune comes to SA

The production Beetle Dune debuted at the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show and now it has made its way to South Africa.

The Dune will only be available locally with 1.4 TSI engine with 110kW power output and mated to a 7-speed DSG transmission.

The Beetle Dune is the first crossover Beetle derivative in over 80 years ago and has 18-inch wheels and 14 mm of extra ground clearance over other Beetle derivatives. The Dune is also has slightly wider tracks too: 7 mm in front  and 6 mm at the rear.

Some features of the Beetle Dune include automatic headlight activation, manual lumbar support in front, illuminated make-up mirrors, cruise control system, automatically dimming rear-view mirror, rain sensor for the windshield wipers, Park Distance control (front and rear) and Hill Hold Assist.

The car is available in one of three colours, Pure White, Reflex Silver and new Sandstorm Yellow.

The new Beetle comes standard with a 5 year/60 000km Automotion Maintenance Plan, 3 year/120 000km warranty and a 12 year anti-corrosion warranty. Service Intervals are at 15 000km.
